Walkways, Patios
& Drainage In
Baytown, TX.

Gravel and step stone walkways, paver patios, driveway extensions, French drains, and small retaining walls. Most Baytown jobs involve building next to something that is already there, which is a different problem from starting on a blank lot.

What We Build

Five Things
We Do Well In
Baytown.

We build the parts of a yard that do not grow. Paths, patios, drainage, and edging. No lawn care, no lawn maintenance, no tree removal. If that is what you need, we will point you somewhere good.

The question we get asked most here is whether new work will match the old. Worth answering honestly before anybody spends money.

Patio Renovation & Extensions

Interlocking pavers over compacted base, either extending the slab you have or replacing it. On an older Baytown lot that decision comes down to the condition of the concrete, and we make it standing on it.

Gravel & Step Stone Walkways In Baytown

Concrete step stones set level with 3.5 inches of black star gravel between them, edged in bender board. A deliberate change of material next to old concrete reads better than a patch that almost matches.

French Drains & Yard Drainage

Inlets, pipe, and a grade that actually slopes toward the drain. We look at the downspouts before quoting a system, because an extension and one inlet fixes a lot of yards on its own.

Driveway Extensions

Extra parking down the side of the drive, or room for a boat trailer. We tell you in writing which builds are rated to be driven on and which are not, before the deposit.

Retaining Walls & Borders

Short walls and edging. Nothing that needs an engineer. Usually the thing that ties a new build cleanly into whatever was already in the yard.
New Next To Old

It Is Not Going
To Match.

Country Club Oaks, Graywood, Lakewood Oaks, Goose Creek. Most Baytown yards already have concrete in them, and most of the jobs we quote here sit right up against it. Here is what we tell people before they pick anything.
01
Nobody Tells You This

New Concrete Never Matches

Pour fresh concrete beside a slab that has been weathering for thirty years and the difference will be obvious, no matter what anyone promises you. It will fade closer over time. It will not disappear. Better to know that now than after it is down.
02
The Better Answer

Change It On Purpose

A near miss looks like a repair. A deliberate change of material looks like a design. Running pavers or step stones and gravel off the edge of an old slab reads as intentional, and it costs about the same as trying and failing to blend in.
03
What Actually Matters

Match The Level

Colour is what people ask about. Level is what they trip on. Where new work meets old, getting the heights right and the fall running the correct way matters far more in five years than whether the two greys are a close match.
04
Sometimes Start Over

When Not To Extend

If the existing slab has dropped at a corner or broken through, building onto it just ties good work to a bad foundation. Replacing the whole run costs more upfront and less over ten years. We will tell you which situation you are in.

No, and anybody who says otherwise is setting you up to be disappointed. Concrete that has been weathering for decades has a colour and texture that new material cannot replicate. It will close the gap a little over the years but it will always read as two pours. Our advice is usually to stop trying to match and change material deliberately instead, which looks like a decision rather than a repair.

Depends on the slab, and that is a call we make standing on it. Hairline cracking on something still level is usually fine to build off. A slab that has dropped at a corner or broken through is not, because anything tied to it moves when it moves. Replacing costs more now and less over ten years, and we will tell you plainly which one you have.

We measure rather than guess. Step stones in black star gravel price below pavers over the same footprint, and where old material has to come out first that is part of the number. The site visit is free, the quote is in writing within 24 hours of it, and there is no starting-at pricing.

Under $5,000 it is 50% to schedule and 50% on completion after the final walkthrough. Over $5,000 it is 50% to schedule, 30% at the halfway mark, and 20% on completion. Same structure for every customer. The deposit reserves the crew, the date, and the materials.
