Walkways, Patios
& Drainage In
Missouri City.

Gravel and step stone walkways, paver patios, driveway extensions, French drains, and small retaining walls. Quail Valley and Hunters Glen have had fifty years to grow oaks over the paths. Those roots win, eventually. What we build works with that instead of pretending otherwise.

What We Build

Five Things We
Do Well In
Missouri City.

We build the parts of a yard that do not grow. Paths, patios, drainage, and edging. No lawn care, no lawn maintenance, no tree removal. Under a mature canopy that last one comes up on nearly every visit.

On an older lot the question is not just what to build. It is what will still be flat in ten years with a root growing under it.

Gravel & Step Stone Walkways In Missouri City

Concrete step stones set level with 3.5 inches of black star gravel between them. Individual stones can be lifted and reset when the ground moves. A poured slab in the same spot cracks and stays cracked.

Patio Renovation & Extensions

Interlocking pavers over compacted base, either extending what you have or replacing it. On a seventies patio the condition of the existing slab decides which, and we make that call standing on it.

French Drains & Yard Drainage

Inlets, pipe, and a grade that actually slopes toward the drain. In the older sections the original grading has had decades of beds and fill added to it, so the route is rarely the obvious one.

Retaining Walls & Borders

Short walls and edging. Nothing that needs an engineer. Bender board holds a bed line against roots that are slowly pushing everything outward.

Driveway Extensions

Extra parking down the side of the drive. Driveways in the older sections were built for the cars people had then. We say in writing which builds are rated to be driven on.
Mature Lots

The Roots Were
Here First.

Quail Valley went in during the seventies, Lake Olympia in the early eighties, and Hunters Glen is not far behind them. The oaks that made those streets worth living on are now under the walkways. Four things that changes about the build.
01
Grinding Is Temporary

The Lifted Path

A root under a poured walkway lifts one slab and turns it into a trip hazard. Grinding the lip flat buys a couple of years, because the root keeps growing and the slab keeps rising. At some point the honest fix is a different kind of path.
02
It Can Be Reset

Why Gravel Gives

Step stones sitting in gravel move independently. If one lifts in five years, it comes up, the base gets adjusted, and it goes back down in an afternoon. That is a maintenance job rather than a demolition job, and it is the main reason we build this way under trees.
03
We Route Around

Do Not Cut It

Cutting through a big root to make a path fit is how a mature oak starts declining, and we are not arborists so we do not make that call for you. Where a root is in the way we route around it or lift the path over it. If it really has to be cut, that is a conversation for a tree specialist first.
04
The Other Half

Sienna Is Different

Down the south end nothing has had time to grow into anything yet. Newer lots come with engineered drainage and a blank backyard, so the brief flips completely. Same crews, opposite problem, and we will not pretend a Sienna yard needs what a Quail Valley yard needs.
What we will not promise is that a path near a mature oak stays perfectly flat forever. Roots grow, clay moves, and anybody telling you otherwise has not been back to look at their own work. What we will do is build it so that when something shifts, fixing it costs an afternoon rather than a rebuild.

Grinding the raised edge flattens the trip hazard for a while, but the root carries on growing and the slab carries on lifting. The longer answer is replacing that run with concrete step stones set in black star gravel, which move independently. When one shifts it gets lifted and reset rather than broken out. We will tell you which of those makes sense for your path on the visit.

Not a significant one, no. Cutting a major root can affect the health and stability of a mature tree, and we are not arborists so it is not our call to make. Where a root is in the way we design around it or bring the path over the top of it. If you genuinely want it removed, talk to a tree specialist first and we will build to whatever they advise.

Put in something that does not need light. Step stones, black star gravel, pavers, or a clean bed line will hold up in full shade where grass has stopped trying. We do not promise new sod survives under a fifty year old canopy, because it usually does not, and we do not do tree removal either.

Most likely, and the requirements differ between the established sections and the newer ones. Most associations here review anything permanent going into a yard. We put the scope, the materials, and the dimensions in the quote so you have what the application asks for. Filing it stays with you as the owner, and we schedule around the approval rather than ahead of it.

We measure rather than guess. Step stones in black star gravel price below pavers over the same footprint, and on an established lot taking out whatever is there now is part of the number. The site visit is free, the quote is in writing within 24 hours of it, and there is no starting-at pricing.

No. Missouri City is inside our regular service area and the site visit is free. Jobs are assigned by zone, so your project already has a crew on it before the quote goes out.

Under $5,000 it is 50% to schedule and 50% on completion after the final walkthrough. Over $5,000 it is 50% to schedule, 30% at the halfway mark, and 20% on completion. Same structure for every customer. The deposit reserves the crew, the date, and the materials.
